Ryan had spoken passionately about domestic violence on many occasions on his 2 FM morning programme.

He had talked about “the lawlessness” and “tyranny”  of the home in describing the awful reality of domestic violence.  Instead of simply asking “why doesn’t she leave?” Ryan posed the question to his listeners, “what makes him do it?” so switching the focus from the story of the victim to the actions of the abuser.

At the launch, Ryan said that the silence that continued to protect domestic violence had to stop.  You can see him here.
